Here I will put my DID NOT FINISH reviews. and this seems to be a newer thing that I'm doing more and more lately.

Caraval: DNF

Honestly. I really wanted to love this book. I had heard such raving reviews. I was soooo excited. And then I started it. Thank goodness I borrowed it from the library and didn't spend my money on a book I disliked. The story felt like maybe it could have been fresh, but it certainly felt like the characters were not. Scarlett was super annoying. I kept waiting for the chapter that she would finally calm down and become likable but I really hated her most of the book. Julian was fine except that he was of course, the token hot, hate-able guy. People. male characters can be more than annoying and smoking hot. another thing, the writing felt... forced. I couldn't get into her style. It wasn't exactly terrible, just unnatural. It felt like the author wanted us to know she is unique but just came off as desperate. I didn’t even end up finishing the book because every time i thought about reading it, I dreaded having to pick it up and maybe that’s strange, but I decided not to read a book I felt so strongly against. Anyways. if you liked the book, I’m glad! maybe it got better as you read or maybe I’m just pickier these days.

THE COVER WAS SO PRETTYYYYY.  *sad face* *lots of tears* such a shame that this book did the jacket so dirty. The book... sucked. I hated it. I couldn't stand Alice. She was bland and predictable. The story was slow and uninteresting. Granted, I didn't get very far, but still. I did not want to read a book with such an annoying main character. Anyways. I barely have anything to say for this book. Except that THE COVER WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
